What is the primary goal of churches today? Maybe a better way to look at that question is to ask, “Is the church’s goal to look inward, or to look outward to others?”
The right answer obviously is that we are to look outward to others. Go out and make disciples, love others, invite others, but do our churches really function that way in 2012?
Pastors, staff, and volunteers spend lots of time trying to create a perfect atmosphere to those who regularly attend church. From the order of the service, to the songs, to the message, before we know it we are just focused on the people “inside” the church, spending all of our time and energy on pleasing the people that are already at church.
